We have many opportunities for teens to grow spiritually at Saint Catherine of Siena. We believe as our knowledge of faith grows our involvement in a faith community is necessary to help our relationship with Jesus Christ flourish. We encourage all youth to be actively participating in a catechetical formation program either through their Catholic School or through our Parish School of Religion and to be involved in the
St. Catherine of Siena parish community.

For our older youth we offer Junior CYO and CYO to help teens build community, grow in their experience of the Sacraments, and be challenged in their personal prayer life and faith walk. We encourage all teens (6th-12th grade) to be involved in either Junior CYO or CYO and have a home here at St. Catherine of Siena.

Parish School of Religion (PSR)

The St. Catherine of Siena Parish School of Religion is for the religious education of our parishioners in grades Kindergarten through 10th grade who do not attend Catholic Schools. Students must be in continuous religious education in order to participate in our 11th grade Confirmation program. We meet once a month, where parents and children both attend, to empower the parents to teach the faith and to reinforce these lessons for the students.
 

Junior CYO

Jr. CYO is a youth group for any 6th - 7th graders in St. Catherine of Siena Parish. We provide social, service, and faith based activities for youth. Our Mission is for middle schoolers to build healthy relationships, have fun, and encounter Christ! This is offered to all 6th and 7th grade teens in addition to their catchesis formation they are receiving either from Catholic School or Parish School of Religion.
 

CYO

SCS CYO is a ministry for 8th-12th graders at St. Catherine of Siena Parish. We seek to make disciples of Christ through living in community, growing in prayer, experiencing the sacraments, and serving our parish and city. We desire for each of our teens to know they are loved by God, were created for a purpose, and have a home here at Saint Catherine of Siena. We encourage all teens in 8th-12th grade to be involved in CYO in addition to any catechesis formation they are receiving from Catholic Schools, Parish School of Religion, or Confirmation preparation.

Confirmation

St. Catherine of Siena prepares and confirms those in 11th grade. There are 8 sessions total to prepare for Confirmation, and the Confirmaiton Mass is in January. We have these sessions as a time where teens can be open to grow in their faith and prepare to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a new way, like the Apostles at Pentecost (Acts 2). For this to happen we do need volunteers to be table leaders to guide these teens through the different things we will go over in the sessions.
