"Midnight Run” is an outreach concept being utilized throughout the United States in ministering to the homeless by way of food and fellowship. MNR is held on the last Monday of every month. Those who sign up as volunteers for MNR will meet at 6:30 pm in the Melancon Center at SCS, in order to assemble bag lunches with prayer cards in them for the homeless.
After we have completed assembling the bag lunches(should be no later than 7:00 pm) we will coordinate a few vehicles to drive, caravan style, to a specified area near the Claiborne overpass, which is where we will distribute the food. We should finish distributing all the bag lunches and be on our way back no later than about 8:00 pm. If you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to contact one of the event organizers, Patrick, at: patrick.lamy.crossfit @ gmail.com or by phone at 504-232-9247.
* Volunteers will be asked to bring a specific part of a bagged meal (e.g. one person will be asked to bring a loaf of bread, someone else will be asked to bring a case of water, someone else will be asked to bring (1)lb of turkey, etc... These "Food Responsibility" requests will be sent out by email the day before each run.
The set for Midnight Run organized by the St. Catherine of Siena Young Adult group.
Sign ups for the next Midnight Run will be closed at 5pm on Saturday, January 23rd.
